AUDITIONS

Bakersfield City Ballet invites dedicated dancers to audition for our upcoming season. As our city’s pre-professional ballet company, Bakersfield City Ballet offers advanced training, performance opportunities, and professional dance pathways.
Dancers should have a strong foundation in classical ballet, with additional training in contemporary/jazz, and modern.
Recommended: minimum 5-7 years of consistent ballet training.
This audition is best suited for serious dancers ready to commit to a rigorous and rewarding season. Bakersfield City Ballet is committed to supporting its dancers through performance stipends (Corps level and above) and select shoe and costume provisions, contingent upon annual fundraising and season budget.
PLEASE NOTE:
Following contract renewals for current company members, a limited number of positions (11) are available for this 2026-2027 season.
We welcome dancers ages 12 and older. The audition will consist of a ballet barre, center, across the floor, pointe work, and a contemporary ballet combination.
